U2 volta à política no clipe de Every Breaking Wave

Em “Every Breaking Wave”, os irlandeses do U2 mostram porque ainda são relevantes, já que mais do que um simples videoclipe, optaram em realizar um curta metragem instigante, que ganha peso ao dramatizar uma época onde por décadas a violência era cotidiana na Irlanda do Norte, na rabeira dos conflitos entre católicos e protestantes nos anos 80.

Dirigido pela talentosa cineasta de Belfast Aoife McArdle, o filme mostra em 13 minutos muito mais do que a canção em sí, abrindo com imagens do agito de um concerto de punk rock, onde um casal alternativo se cruza em clima de romance e perigo, já que um é católico e outro protestante, vivendo no fio da navalha de uma sociedade dividida.

Boa forma de nessas épocas de guerras sem sentido, manipulações midiáticas e disseminação da política do ódio e do medo, nos lembrarmos do custo humano e moral que conflitos fratricidas causam aos povos e às sociedades, justamente numa era onde o conhecimento é o principal ativo, mas a guerra, a intolerância e a morte continuam a nos destruir.
